Ya its great for perch with small garden worms! To fish hrough the ice shorten the bobber by slidding the rod into the yellow foam about a inch and slide the top styrofoam down so the bobber fits in the 8 inch hole! just drop it in and it will work great! I fished at deep creek Maryland about 6 years and caught alot f perch all on small worms. I guess 90 % of all perch I ever caught were on small worms! Also real small minnows will work since they have a small mouth!! Iwould not use a hook larger than size 6!

Most of the perch are really small here but I'm still taking them home! Always wanted to go to Lake Simcoe in Canada,put it on my bucket list.Hopefully there will be some smelt , those are what I'm really after
